The Harry Potter reboot show on HBO Max is moving along nicely, with a cast slowly being put together ahead of filming.
So far, we’ve had confirmed castings for iconic characters like Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape, but not the main trio of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
See the brief teaser for the Harry Potter HBO Max show below.
There are also plenty of side characters who haven’t been cast too, many of which won’t be making an appearance until much later into the show, especially if each season will be one of the books.

One such character is Bellatrix Lestrange, one of my favourites in the franchise, and someone who’s very important as she’s the person who kills Harry’s godfather Sirius Black, one of Harry’s last surviving family members.
While no one has been cast in the role just yet, actress Lena Headey was suggested for the role in a Reddit thread by theeviloneisyou. You may know Lena Headey from series such as Game Of Thrones, as Lena played Cersei Lannister.
It’s not a bad shout by any means, but I think it’ll be difficult to surpass Helena Bonham Carter’s portrayal of the character and I’m sure many fans agree.
“Hard pass. She doesn’t have chaotic energy. She would make a good Narcissa though,” suggested one of the commenters, with another adding, “I think she’s unfortunately not right, age wise, and I don’t think she could pull of the evil type of playfulness/childishness.”

Someone else gave a top tier recommendation for Bellatrix, Cristin Milioti, saying, “Our iconic Sofia [The Penguin]. Even better for WB, since her contract with HBO is renewed.”
Like I said earlier, Bellatrix doesn’t show up for quite a while so there’s no rush to find someone to play her just yet.
Nevertheless, it’s fun to predict who could be in the running for the role; hopefully, it’s the right decision.
