The Batman Part 2 teaser has us all very excited

A tiny crumb to tide us over

Matt Reeves isn’t exactly in a rush to release The Batman Part II.

It was three years ago that Robert Pattinson donned the cowl, with the sequel yet to even begin filming.

It is, however, inching closer to doing so and, of course, it would be remiss not to mention that The Penguin recently aired to tide us over.

Well, it did a tad more than tide us over. It was positively fantastic and if you haven’t yet given the series a watch, I heartily recommend you do so.

Whether it’s during a potential second season of The Penguin or in The Batman Part II, I need to see more of Cristin Milioti’s Sofia Falcone on my screen.

In fact, I’d argue that The Penguin may just be essential viewing with the finale episode seemingly setting up a major new villain.

This aside, there’s very little we know about where The Batman Part II’s story is heading.

While we continue plundering on through this information drought though, Bruce Wayne himself, Pattinson, has offered a small tease.

The Penguin is five-star television.

In an interview with Extra TV, as per Culture Crave, Pattinson teased that he’s now been made aware of what to expect in the next film instalment.

“I know what it’s about,” he began.

“Matt Reeves is a very careful writer … and it’s very cool. I’m very excited.”

Admittedly, it’s a vague tease, but it’s nice to know that the actor is enthused by what’s in store nonetheless.

Could the aforementioned tease in The Penguin be the sequel’s big bad?

Will we be seeing more of Barry Keoghan’s take on The Joker who surfaced towards the end of the previous film?

I have to say, I’m kind of hoping the answer is no to that one.

Of course, The Joker is iconic and eventually, it’ll be great to see Pattinson’s caped crusader face off against the infamous villain, but it’s nice seeing some other antagonists enter the spotlight in the meantime.

With The Batman Part II recently having been pushed from late 2026 to 1 October 2027, it’s going to be a long time before a trailer manifests.
