Well, this is a morning treat. A brand new trailer has dropped for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse and oh my goodness, it looks incredible. What’s perhaps most exciting of all though is that the trailer appears to confirm that Tom Holland’s MCU Spidey is set to make an appearance.
If you haven’t yet seen 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, you should really think about changing that. I’m going to say it. It may just be one the greatest superhero films AND one of the greatest animated films of all-time. There’s already a ton of hype surrounding Across The Spider-Verse which will see Shameik Moore return as Miles Morales. In the initial trailer, fans spotted Insomniac Games’ version of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, plus PS1 Spider-Man. In the weeks since, it’s been rumoured that Marvel star Tom Holland could make a cameo appearance and the latest trailer may have just confirmed that.
Take a look at the brand new trailer for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse below.
Back in February, the Holland rumours began swirling. Insiders claimed that the actor would appear in Across The Spider-Verse and was actually responsible for the film's delay. It’s believed that it was delayed in order to allow Holland to join the project. Now, in the latest trailer, we see Oscar Isaac’s character Miguel O’Hara talking about “Doctor Strange and the little nerd on Earth-199999”. If you’re a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you’ll recognise that number.

Earth-199999 is the name of the main earth in the MCU’s timeline. It’s a tad confusing now that we’re living through The Multiverse Saga but yes, Earth-199999 is where all the MCU characters we’re familiar with reside, so “the little nerd” is assumedly Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. Surely then, we’ll see the character make an appearance?
Rumours claimed that we’d actually see Holland’s Parker in a live-action capacity. Seeing as Shameik Moore looks a lot like his character Miles, it’s thought that he could enter a live-action universe where he bumps into Holland’s Parker. This part is all just a rumour for now, but it sounds pretty cool.
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is set to release on 2 June.
