Back in March, CD Projekt Red finally announced that a fourth instalment in The Witcher franchise had officially entered development, much to the delight of fans. It should be noted that whilst the game is being referred to in the general consensus as The Witcher 4, this is not an official title. In fact, CD Projekt previously confirmed that the game would not be a sequel to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and now, we have a better idea of what the game will be.
Speaking of CD Projekt Red, check out the trailer for the newly-announced Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC below.
As reported by Tech Radar, CD Projekt Red’s CEO Adam Kiciński recently outlined the studio’s plans at an earnings call. Having previously announced that The Witcher 4 would not be a straight-forward sequel, we now know that it will instead kickstart a “second Witcher saga.”

Kiciński said, “There will be a new saga. Now, we are pre-producing the first game of this saga, but we have in mind more than one. The first saga was three games, so now we are thinking about more than one game." This still doesn’t confirm that the new saga will necessarily centre around Geralt, but I’m sure fans of The Witcher will be thrilled to hear of the series’ bountiful future nonetheless.
One thing we do know about the project is that it’ll be made in Unreal Engine 5 as opposed to the previous REDengine. This is part of CDPR’s "multi-year strategic partnership with Epic Games.” Seeing as the game is so early in its development, it could be a long time before we get a full reveal.
