You know, I feel like players discover The Witcher 3’s “final secret” at least once a month, but at this point, there surely cannot be any more left. Even the developer who commented on this discovery poked fun at the community for taking more than 10 years to actually find it.
A YouTuber going by the name of xLetalis recently posted on Twitter that they had discovered a fancy little secret that can only be found through the use of mods (shout out to Mark Warren over on VG247 for reporting on this one).
During a quest that sees you break out of captivity during a feast in Kaer Trolde, Geralt can encounter a bunch of murderous animals.

As is revealed once you defeat them, the animals in question were simply hallucinations.
This little segment can play out in one of two ways; you either defeat them, at which point Yen will inform you that you were simply tripping balls and wildly swinging your weapon at stuffed animals, or you can die.
ICYMI: Mario & Luigi: Brothership is out today.
Turns out, there’s actually a secret third option that was removed from the game - but still present within The Witcher 3’s files.

By installing the mod Brothers in Arms (which restores a bunch of cut content) and then letting the stuffed animals get you down to roughly 50% of your health, a new cutscene (featured in xLetalis’ video) will trigger instead.
Geralt will come to moments later, informing Yen that “I’m dead. They killed me.”
Associate director at CD Projekt Red, Pawel Sasko, commented on xLetalis’ post poking fun at the community for taking so long to discover this secret.
“Oh, glad to see it was found,” he commented, “I made it in 2014, took you a while.”

Yeah, nevernmind, I’ll probably be writing about the “final” The Witcher 3 secret for the next 20 years.
