Battlefield 2042 didn’t have the smoothest launch, and despite releasing October 2021, the developers are still struggling to set things straight.
The game launched in a less than ideal state leading customers to demand their money back. Even the developers have conceded that the necessary fixes are taking too long to come through. Publisher EA re-positioned staff away from developing the new Need For Speed game, and concentrated them on giving Battlefield players what they paid for. However, with the new Battlefield reportedly already in development, the changes just aren’t coming as fast as everyone hopes.

As spotted by ComicBook, fans haven’t been pleased with the latest update on the EA forums. On a thread asking for feedback, many players have begged the studio for an update to the spawn system which has been causing people headaches. However, when someone from the development team responded to the posts with “These are items we are reviewing, but there are no active development plans locked for those just yet,” players vented their frustrations.

One user started off with, “Given all the things that get continually confirmed as ‘not something we're working on/discussing yet’, what is the team working on? Because honestly it doesn't sound like they're working on very much given what's been publicly communicated so far.”
While someone else pleaded with them to make the game playable. “You should very quickly pivot to address the forced spawn and vehicle spawns. All that happens at the start of the game is the enemy air vehicles come and kill everyone who is afk or changing their loadout. Moving the spawn locations and flags won't stop this.”
While another was still doubting that any of these issues will ever be fixed. “Like, really though? Can we get a roadmap so we can have some sort of idea of the level of support the game is going to receive? Because it doesn't seem like much so far, and without knowing much about next month's patch we're just taking DICE's word for it.”
Looks like people aren’t holding out much hope that EA will turn things around, but who knows? If not, better luck next time I guess.
