Spoiler warning: this article contains spoilers for the fourth episode of The Last of Us - scroll with caution.
Episode four of The Last of Us has landed, and has blessed us with yet another perfectly recreated scene from the game.
Fans were full of praise for the series premiere’s car scene, which mirrored the opening of the game basically down to the last frame. Now, they’ve done it again - this time with the hilarious moment where Ellie begins looking at a certain magazine in the back of Bill’s car, much to Joel’s despair.

Take a look at the trailer for The Last of Us below.
Of course, I’m referring to the pornographic magazine, which Ellie notes is “light on the reading, but it has some interesting pictures”. Joel desperately tries to make her get rid of it, telling her that it “ain’t for kids”, before she eventually questions why the pages are stuck together. At this point, his entire world crumbles.
As Mashable reports, a side-by-side comparison of the scene from the game and show illustrates how faithful the showrunners were with their recreation - pretty much every line is delivered in the exact same way. It’s definitely one of the greatest lighter moments from the source material, so to see it done justice is brilliant.

In case you were unaware, the fifth episode is planned to air two days earlier than normal, since its usual Sunday slot clashes with the Super Bowl. Considering the cliffhanger ending of the most recent episode, I’m sure that this is a schedule change that everyone can get behind.
All in all, it’s awesome to see that the show is continuing to stick so faithfully to the source material - it makes you wonder what other scenes from the game will later be given the one-to-one adaptation treatment. Halo could never.
