An upcoming horror shooter looks like a brutal mix between Fallout and The Last of Us, although the comparisons to the latter are a little bit more obvious based on the enemy designs.
Beautiful Light is a "PvPvPvE" first-person shooter that's set to release in December 2026 on Steam, from first time developer and publisher Deep Worlds SA.
If you’re curious why there are so many Ps in “PvPvPvE”, that’s because Beautiful Light will see you pick one of three sides during missions.

You’ll either be in one of six three-man teams of “Quick Reaction Force” units, or you’ll take control of a “monstrous anomaly” and hunt down everyone in an attempt to stop them from reaching their goal.
It seems there will be quite a few different monstrous anomalies to take control of to, ranging from a gross, slimy-looking lizard-dog thing to what basically just looks like one of The Last of Us’ Clickers.
It’s not all just running and gunning however, as it does sound like there are some customisable, RPG-lite elements to the game, including “an RPG-like progression tree to level up your character and improve your skills”.
As of now, it sounds like Beautiful Light will be a Steam exclusive title. I did take a look at the developers’ updates and blog posts, and they didn’t make any mention of either a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series S/X port of the game.

Still, the game is quite a while off yet, with Deep Worlds SA promising a December 2026 release date. Considering this is their first game, I wouldn’t be surprised if that estimate ends up changing at some point in the future.
However, I’m sure if the PC release is popular, console ports could be in Beautiful Light’s future down the line. For the time being, let’s let the devs cook.
