We all like to poke some fun at game developers every now and then, and Bethesda certainly gets their fair share of it. As developers of some of the biggest RPGs of all time they get memed and dunked on constantly, usually out of endearment.
Well, this is the theme of replies to a tweet quoting Bethesda as they talked about progress being made on The Elder Scrolls VI saying, “We are in development on the next chapter - The Elder Scrolls VI. Even now, returning to Tamriel, and playing early builds has us filled with the same joy, excitement, and promise of adventure.”
Despite the jokes about Bethesda, you can't deny they create wonderful RPGs that last for years
One comment on the tweet hilariously said “This is big. this may be the very first time a Bethesda game has ever been in a playable state.” We can be honest, Bethesda games tend to be filled with bugs and quirks and by this point, we’ve become used to them. Another user looked to Starfield for their jab saying, “Wait, really? Damn even Starfield isn't that far in development yet.”
Advert
Starfield comes up quite a lot. The game hasn’t been enjoying much success of late and has been losing players rapidly with many players feeling the game is too repetitive and “boring.” It’s a sentiment being shared below this tweet with comments like “If Starfield is anything to go by...I wouldn't get my hopes up.”
The comments keep coming, “Bethesda 'playable' or human 'playable'?” It’s hard not to snark on Bethesda given their history with constant patches as this commenter references, “Playable by Bethesda standards mean 12 patches besides the day one patch, and wait for a year for the creation kit so modders can fix everything else.”
It’s unlikely the jabs will stop until we see a proper trailer showcasing some gameplay, and for now, we’ll enjoy the jokes.
