Starfield is set to be an absolute whopper of a game. Seriously, you can see why it’s taken Bethesda so long to develop it.
There are set to be over 1,000 planets. Yes, you heard me right. Only 10% of these actually have life on them, but that’s still 100 planets - many with several outposts and cities. New Atlantis is set to be the biggest city that Bethesda has ever created. The other 90% of the planets will also have important resources for you to locate. There are several romance options on offer and unfortunately, it’s true: Starfield will mark the return of The Adoring Fan. I dread to think how long it’ll take us to complete the game. A long time I’d imagine based on the ridiculous size of the Star Map. Starfield seemingly offers it all, except for a multiplayer mode. Knowing Bethesda fans though, I’d say that a multiplayer mode is just a matter of time.
Take a look at Starfield’s latest trailer below.
Starfield is set to release on PC as well as Xbox, and Todd Howard has already said that just like other Bethesda games, Starfield will be a “modder’s paradise”. As such, it probably won’t take long before a multiplayer mod is made, although this will only be something PC players get to experience. Reddit user B0Lty_Qc kicked off a discussion, saying, “Do you think we will get multiplayer mods soon after launch or will it take more time? What are your thoughts on a [multiplayer] mod?”

Fellow user JoJoisaGoGo replied, “It'll probably take a good while, but I feel confident we'll get one. If I remember correctly, the people making the Skyrim multiplayer mod said it wouldn't be too hard to make it work on FO4 because of how similar the games are, so maybe it'll be the same with Starfield. The only thing I can see holding it back is the ship flying.”
MisterWoodhouse added, “I am sure we'll get multiplayer mods at some point. Given the scale of the game, however, I doubt it will be soon after launch, unless the work done on Fallout and Skyrim multiplayer mods can be heavily leveraged to gain a head start.” Modders succeeded in adding a multiplayer mode to Hogwarts Legacy earlier this year. I have great faith in the incredible Bethesda modding community.
