Back in May, during Star Wars Celebration, amongst the many, many exciting announcements, we finally got our first look at the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, along with that all-important release window.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set to hit new-gen consoles (and PC) sometime in 2023, so while there might still be quite a wait ahead of us, there’s a lot to be excited about. And, oddly, we’ve just got a whole host of new details about the game by way of the tie-in merchandise, which was revealed at San Diego Comic Con over the weekend.
Take a look at the trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor below.
As reported by Metro, an upcoming Hasbro action figure of protag Cal Kestis shows him carrying a blaster, which he also has a holster for, so it certainly implies that he’s going to be shooting things a whole lot more this time around. He also appears to have a beard, which is intriguing as he didn’t have one in the game’s trailer. Perhaps we’re going to be seeing a time-skip happen at some point during the story? Cal has also ditched his poncho, and is now sporting a blue lightsaber, which doesn’t appear to be any of the interesting custom ones from Fallen Order, nor does it seem to be double-ended.

We’ve also got some hints as to what enemies we might be facing in Survivor. Another of the featured toys was a figure of a KX security droid, and although, as Metro writes, these were already included in the first game, they seem to have had a makeover - the figure is equipped with what looks like a generator or canister on its back, which seems dangerous (and potentially explosive).
There was also a figure of a B1 battle droid shown - they didn’t feature in Fallen Order, and are apparently rarely seen outside of the prequel era of Star Wars, which might just imply something about Survivor’s story.
We’ll just have to wait and see how all these little details end up figuring in the game - for now, we can only speculate. I’m maybe the most curious about Cal’s beard, which could well end up being a simple customisation option, but I choose to believe that it’s full of secrets.
