Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse first trailer is here

The first full length trailer for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse has officially been released.

It’s finally here - the first trailer for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. If you haven’t yet seen 2018’s Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, stop what you’re doing and make that your top priority. It may just be the greatest Spider-Man film in existence. A bold claim, I know, but one that is very true. If you don’t believe me, it has a rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. See, I told you.

Given the film’s warm reception (and the fact that it raked in $375.7 million), a sequel was officially announced back in November 2019, due to be released on 2 June 2023. With Shameik Moore back as Miles Morales, I’m happy to reveal that you can now feast your eyes on the brand new trailer.

Take a look at Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’s first full-length trailer below.

How incredible does that look? This time around, Miles embarks on a multiversal adventure with a whole bunch of Spider-People, for lack of a better term. We’ve got Spider-Woman, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Punk... and that’s just to name a few. Miles is set to face off against The Spot (voiced by Jason Schwartzman) who has the ability to open portals that cross dimensions. Sounds pretty apt for a film named Across The Spider-Verse.

Already, eagle-eyed fans have spotted a fun Easter egg in the trailer. One scene appears to feature Insomniac Games’ take on Spider-Man, by which I mean the Peter Parker who appears in Marvel’s Spider-Man. I did get a little suspicious when I noticed that PlayStation had shared the trailer. I’d love to see voice actor Yuri Lowenthal pop up to reprise the role. I wonder if Insomniac’s take on Miles Morales will be in the film too.

We already know that a third instalment is also on the way. Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse is set to be released in March 2024, but I’m getting ahead of myself. For now, let’s just watch this glorious trailer until June 2023 rolls around.
