So, although it was only just announced in December last year, Sniper Elite 5 is almost upon us - the latest in the tactical shooter series is set to release on 26 May, and frankly, if you’re not already sold on it from the headline of this article alone, I’m not sure what to tell you.
Yup, I promise you that’s not a joke - as reported by Push Square, the game’s trophy list was revealed on Exophase, and a quick scroll down to the bottom of the page reveals what’s perhaps the greatest gaming achievement of all time.
Check out the trailer for Sniper Elite 5 right here.
The bronze trophy is titled “Das Familienjuwel” (which translates to “the family jewels”, if it wasn’t immediately obvious), and can only be completed as part of the game’s day-one DLC, Target Führer: Wolf Mountain. The description is simple: “Kill Hitler with a testicle shot.” Straightforward enough.

That’s not the only scrotum-shooting achievement available in the game, either - the bronze trophy “Die Nussknacker Sweet!” is up for grabs for any player who manages to shoot someone in the nuts with a rifle from a distance of 100 metres or more. Look me in the eye and tell me that’s not a selling point, I dare you. Those looking to get that sweet, sweet Platinum trophy are going to have quite an interesting journey ahead of them, anyway.
These aren’t the only bizarre achievements that have been gracing our consoles lately - indie studio Crows Crows Crows’ latest release, The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, features a trophy that you can only unlock after not playing the game for a full 10 years. Aptly titled “Super Go Outside”, you’ll need to do exactly that if you have any hope of adding this trophy to your collection, presumably on your shiny new PS6, which comes with new immersive technology allowing you to smell the titles you’re playing (make sure you turn that off before going into any online matches).
Sniper Elite 5 is releasing on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series X/S later this month.
