PlayStation Plus free download nets you a Platinum in 5 minutes

The devs definitely forgot they left this in the game

You can snag yourself a Platinum trophy in under five minutes by taking advantage of a funny little oversight in one of the free PlayStation Plus titles currently available through the service.

Shout out in advance to YouTuber IBadDriverI for their guide!

Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is a real-time tactics game that sees you heading up the ship of a pirate crew, and was the last title developed by Mimimi Games before their closure in December 2023.

The game is one of the most recent additions to the PlayStation Plus Premium trials catalogue, which means that you can only play the game for roughly two hours before you’d have to purchase it outright.

Thankfully, thanks to a dumb exploit, you’ll only need a few minutes to actually nab its Platinum trophy.

Take a look at Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew in action below.

To pull off the exploit, you’ll need two things: a keyboard and a distinct lack of shame.

This is because, by typing in a specific code while you’re hovering over the main menu of the game, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew actually allows players to access its developer mode.

Developer mode, as the name might imply, lets you essentially unlock whatever you want and change whatever in-game parameters you desire.

Now you could use this mode to do some silly stuff like turning on God Mode and making yourself unkillable… or you could just go straight to the section of the menu that literally just lets you unlock all of its trophies by clicking a few buttons.

And that’s it. Type in the code, find the area of the menu that lets you unlock all the trophies, and spam the X button a few times. Enjoy your Platinum trophy that you 100% do not deserve.

Makes me wonder how many other games in the PlayStation Plus Premium catalogue have developer modes…
