Fast travel can be both a blessing and a curse in some of our favourite open-world RPGs.
Despite the feature allowing us to get from A to B in record speed, it does also sometimes mean that we miss out on some random encounters that may happen.
Check out the official trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim below!
That is definitely the case for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as despite the game being well over a decade old, players are recently learning about an epic adventure that many of us missed out on.

The hilarious story was told on r/skyrim by user marigoldsandviolets and started off with, “Fun thing to do: follow Ulfric to High Hrothgar.”
The user reminisces about the time that they followed the Jard of Windhelm all the way to High Hrothgar after setting up the peace conference.
Of course, many of us would have made our own way there in time and would assume that Ulfric would suddenly spawn there upon our arrival.
However, Bethesda seemingly went to the trouble of making Ulfric walk the entire way and it is safe to say that he had one hell of a journey.

“So I followed him. And reader, it was the most fun I've had in this damn game,” the user continued.
“He fought *everything.* He yelled portentous and menacing taunts at every bear he came across, then shouted them down before he killed them…He took the weirdest route I've ever seen (all the way around the foot of the mountain)."
They continued, "When we walked through Riverwood he walked straight up to Alvor and killed him with no provocation, then fought all the guards in the town for like 20 minutes--it took him FOREVER to get past the boundary of where they stopped chasing him. I honestly laughed the whole entire way. 10/10 would recommend.”
It wasn’t long before other players shared their thoughts about this easily missed adventure and also paid respects to Alvor the blacksmith.

“Not my favourite blacksmith Alvor :(,” the top comment read.
User Kaxxipants said, “The amount of new things that I learn about this game amazes me. I thought I knew it all.”
This is just more evidence of how much detail Bethesda put into the hit RPG and how much we are still yet to discover.
