A brand new medieval RPG just dropped on Steam that looks like a fun mix between The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Valheim, and you can get your hands on it for free (if you play your cards right).
Nested Lands is an upcoming PvE base building RPG on Steam that features “in-depth village building, large-scale social management and combats”.
This isn’t the developer’s (1M Bits Horde) first project, although it does definitely look like their most ambitious.

Their publisher (META Publishing) does have a relatively good track record however, having worked on titles such as Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous (which has a Very Positive score on Steam with 28,384 reviews, 83% of which are positive) and Spirit of the Island (which has a Mostly Positive score on Steam with over 1,000 reviews, 70% of which are positive).
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a fantastic game.
Unfortunately, although feedback for the Alpha test does look relatively positive at a glance, there’s no exact way to collate it all as of yet. However, access to the Alpha test is free, so you can always give it a go for yourself if you like the look of it.

The devs have stated on the official Nested Lands site that the Alpha version of the game “provides about six to eight hours of gameplay with base questlines and key mechanics”, so don’t go in expecting a particularly lengthy experience out of this one.
To gain access to the Alpha test, head on over to the Steam page for Nested Lands and request access. No word on when they’ll be looking for more applicants, but given that it literally just went live, I reckon you’ve got a chance of getting in (provided you apply ASAP).
There’s no exact release date for this one yet, but the devs have promised that it “will be available on other platforms as well” once it’s out.
