Finally, after a week of hype, March 25 arrived– the promised day. The day that Rockstar Games would, according to the latest theory whipped up by the internet at large, definitely drop the next trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI.
Then, yesterday at 2 pm, as guaranteed by the GTA VI community… Rockstar Games’ Twitter dropped our first, official look at a new, long-awaited… Red Dead Redemption 2 online event.
Honestly, I doubt Rockstar Games intentionally planned to drop something on this date just to annoy the people who believed in the March 25 theory, but it's hilarious that they dropped something about Red Dead Online.

The r/GTA6 community didn’t find it quite so funny, however, based on the reactions to the post in a thread on the subreddit.
The commenters don’t seem particularly mad with Rockstar Games, though. No, they seem to be taking aim at the community for needlessly whipping itself into a frenzy for the fifth time this month.
“It’s truly amazing to watch the psychotic mental gymnastics swing farther and farther out just to crash land in the exact same place every. single. time,” commented user electro_gretzky.
“Every time people come up with a new theory they drop something completely unrelated in that exact same date,” replied user nowhere2run4.

“People should just stop.”
It’s kind of nice to see the r/GTA6 community is finally acting a bit more introspective about all of this, because that subreddit has been an absolute mess over the last couple of months.
Obviously, people are excited about the game and they’re desperate for new info, but they really do only have themselves to blame for all of this needlessly disappointing hype.
They’ve already moved onto a new theory too, with a lot of users assuming that Rockstar Games will now post the second GTA VI trailer on April Fool's Day. Thankfully, less people are on board than usual, it would seem, which should hopefully mean fewer people are disappointed next time.
