Despite coming out around four years ago, Rockstar’s huge open-world Western, Red Dead Redemption 2, is still very much on everyone’s mind.
At the London Games Festival this year, a screenshot from Arthur’s journey won a virtual photography award over much newer games on the latest generation of consoles. Fans are still coming up with new fan theories despite the game’s age, and others have been so enamoured with the title that they have compared the technical achievement to the building of the pyramids.
If you’re a fan of RDR2 then you can check out the funniest wins and fails in the video below.
The one thing that has been missing is the ability to play through the vast open world, with decreased load times, and improved graphics. Despite how big the story was in the gaming consciousness, it has failed to be ported to the newest generation of consoles - the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

According to insider AccountNGT, (as spotted by Screen Rant) there may still be hope. While Rockstar has been focused on the Grand Theft Auto series, with remasters of GTA 3 and GTA V, as well as the announcement that a sixth game is in the works, many thought the company had forgotten about its second most popular franchise.
In now deleted tweets, the insider replied “it’s coming” to another Twitter user asking if we will see RDR2 enhanced for the newest consoles. It’s unclear why AccountNGT would delete the tweets; either they mis-spoke, or they have been told by their sources to remove the tweets.
Despite the deletion it feels like something in the Red Dead Redemption franchise will be happening soon. This last game was one of the best-selling and critically successful titles of all time. With parent company Take-Two Interactive saying that they are focusing on their successful IPs, it seems inevitable that we’ll be returning to the Wild West at some point.
