This Red Dead Redemption 2 mod makes the game look genuinely new-gen.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of Rockstar Games’ crown jewels, and that’s saying something considering that it not only has the likes of the original game in the RDR series but also Grand Theft Auto, Bully and more.
Released in 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One, then for PC and the defunct Google Stadia a year later, Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the highest-scoring games on Metacritic with a mighty 97 for both PS4 and Xbox One.
The popular Western title is one of the most immersive games ever with incredible visuals and a vast world filled with activities that could keep you busy for years to come. What’s more, despite releasing around five years ago, fans agree that RDR2 still looks better than most new games released today.

However, what if Red Dead Redemption 2 could look even better? Well, as reported by DSOgaming, that’s exactly what has happened all thanks to the ‘4K Story and Side Characters’ mod on PC. In fact, this mod seems very similar to the one that was recently released for Assassin’s Creed Unity.
As the name of this Red Dead Redemption 2 mod clearly suggests, it does exactly what it says on the tin. When applied, the mod will improve character models, faces as well as bodies, hair and more to the main and side characters of the campaign.
Sadly, with this mod being for PC, it is not available for consoles and with Rockstar Games not likely to release a new-gen patch for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, console gamers will continue to look on in envy at the PC Master Race.
In related news, a Red Dead Redemption 3 concept map is absolutely massive and gives us a glimpse as to what we might expect to see for the future of the series. Oh, and for fans of Lenny, a player may have discovered an alternate ending for the beloved character.
