Red Dead Redemption 2 fans have been listing all of their favourite Easter eggs in the game, and it seems like a few folks missed one of the most impressive secrets it has to offer…
Over in a thread on the r/RDR2 subreddit, fans of Rockstar Games’ title have been ranking all of the game’s secrets.
However, it seems a lot of them have never heard of the infamous Ghost Train Easter egg - probably because triggering it is no easy task.

For a start, you'll have to head over to a specific point on the Old Greenbank Mill, in the Scarlett Meadows region of the map.
Then, you’ll have to wait until 3 AM and wander up and down the train tracks near the Old Greenbank Mill until it spawns.
Even if you’re there at the exact right time, there is still a good chance that it won’t actually spawn, so camp nearby and reattempt your hunt the next day.
Check out some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails.
You’ll know you’ve successfully triggered it once your horse begins to neigh and whinny randomly, as this will only happen once the ghost train is about to spawn.

Or, if you can’t be bothered, here’s a video of someone triggering the event instead.
Interestingly, it seems that this is only a one-time event. Once it spawns and disappears, you won’t be able to see it again. Or you know, just rewatch the YouTube video I guess.
There are a bunch of other ghostly encounters hidden in Red Dead Redemption 2 beyond the ghost train too, such as the spirit of Agnes Downes that you can find wandering in Lemoyne and the voices of the young men who died in a battle near in the Scarlett Meadows.
What is Rockstar Games’ fascination with ghosts, anyway? All of the GTA games seem to have similar secrets.

Maybe we’ll find out once GTA VI releases, which will be any day now I’m sure.
