PlayStation Plus PS5 freebie hailed as 'truly beautiful 10/10 game'

Recent PlayStation Plus addition Kena: Bridge of Spirits is being hailed as a 'truly beautiful 10/10 game' by players.

PlayStation Plus has really been delivering the goods as of late. In fact, there are so many incredible games on the service now - particularly if you’re subscribed to the extra tier - that it can be difficult to know where to start. Fellow subscribers though are recommending you check out one ‘10/10’ game in particular.

Let’s recap on the month’s offerings. Essential subscribers can grab GRID Legends, Descenders, and Chivalry II which isn’t the greatest line-up, but Chivalry II is said to be a ‘gem’ of a game. The extra and premium drop more than made up for the essential tier disappointment though, adding a whopping 23 new games including one of gaming’s best trilogies, and one of the PlayStation 5’s best exclusives. Today though, I’m here to highlight an incredible game included in April’s extra tier drop, Kena: Bridge of Spirits.

Take a look at Kena: Bridge of Spirits in action below.

Released by Ember Lab in 2021 as a debut title, Kena: Bridge of Spirits follows the titular Kena, a young spirit guide who must save an abandoned village and the souls trapped within it from the corruption unleashed by a powerful masked spirit. If you’re a fan of Disney and Studio Ghibli, it very much feels like the child of both studios - stunning animation, adorable spirit companions in the form of the Rot, plus an enchanting world to explore … What more could you want?

Over on Reddit, user Largerer wrote, “Kena is the best PS5 game I’ve played so far. Returnal was dope, but Kena is just beautiful, truly 10/10 game.” Plenty of others agreed. Omegastriver added, “I really enjoyed it and look forward to whatever they make next. For a rookie studio, and this being their first game, it deserved way more praise than it received.”

Johncitizen69420 said, “Yeah, I loved Kena. It was my 2021 GOTY. Can’t wait to see what Ember Lab does next, either Kena 2 or something new, I’ll take either.” Good point. We certainly haven’t heard from them in a couple of years. If Kena 2 is announced during this year’s Summer Game Fest, I will be very happy indeed. If you haven’t yet sampled this delight, please do.
