A list has surfaced on Reddit showing a list of games that were available on PlayStation Plus during June 2012 and it’s safe to say that the service used to be a lot better.
With PlayStation Plus launching back in 2010, a lot of great and not so great games have passed through the service. With many people subscribing as a chance to save money as well as experience games on day one, it’s not surprising that millions of people are still members. However, after a look back to how things used to be for the subscription service, you can’t help but think the standard has dropped.
This comes courtesy of a Reddit post on the r/PlayStationPlus account asking, “What do you guys think was the best month for PS Plus Essential?” With many people replying with the months that saw their favourite game added, the reply with the most upvotes reminded us of the game selection that was made available during June 2012.

Check out Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 below!
The user says, “The PS3 days are where the best months were. Here’s June 2012”, before listing ten games that were available on the service. This includes Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, Chime Super Deluxe, Darksiders, Renegade Ops, Outland, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD, inFamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2 and MotorStorm: Apocalypse. This had many people agree that the PS3 days were the best and subscribers got a lot more value for money.
It’s not hard to see why considering this month featured the much-loved Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine which is still celebrated to this day. It also saw inFamous 2 which is often considered the best in the series. LittleBigPlanet 2 was the highly praised sequel that offered endless hours of fun and that’s just three examples.

With that being said, PlayStation Plus is still believed to be value for money. With each month costing £6.99/$9.99 and allowing you access to a large library of games as well as day one releases, it can be more accessible than purchasing games outright. However, another month like July 2012 would still be nice.
