breaking news
The PlayStation Plus October offerings have been announced for the Essential tier and it's a strong set of games: Superhot, Hot Wheels Unleashed and Injustice 2.
Before we lose ourselves in the excitement for the new ones, it's important to note that there's now only a short window of time to claim the current month's games. These are Granblue Fantasy Versus, Need for Speed Heat and TOEM - the third game in that list being a BAFTA nominated adventure. My coworkers will attest that I will not rest until the entire world has played TOEM and you should see the bags under my eyes. Make my job a little easier and be sure to add those three to your library with haste. Cheers.

Superhot, Hot Wheels Unleashed and Injustice 2 are part of the Essential tier, though those on Extra and Premium members are of course able to also add these three games to their library from 4 October until 31 October.
Superhot is generally considered to be one of the most influential first person shooters out there. Time only moves when you move, and the player must eliminate all of the enemies in the level in order to progress to the next one. As a result, you turn into a regular John Wick, knocking guns and baseball bats out of your assailants' hands, catching them, and fatally bonking them into another plane of reality.

Personally speaking, Injustice 2 isn't as exciting as the other two, because I'm not a comic book buff. We exist. However, I'm a person who was raised on Micro Machines on the Mega Drive. It wasn't a nutritious childhood - there aren't a lot of vitamins in that game. Hot Wheels Unleashed is the one I'm most excited to play, ergo, and the arcade sim is coming to PS5 and PS4, whereas Superhot and Injustice 2 are only coming to PS4.
And again, the opportunity to grab Granblue Fantasy Versus, Need for Speed Heat and TOEM will expire on 3 October.
