The PlayStation 5 Pro release date is dropping alongside a new Nintendo console, says an insider.
We’ve heard rumours that Sony plans to release a PlayStation 5 Pro for quite some time, as too have there been reports of a new Nintendo Switch console. After all, both Sony and Nintendo are no strangers to releasing various iterations of console generations.
Sony first released an improved version of the original PlayStation with the revised PSOne in 2000. Whereas Nintendo has been doing it since the Game Boy Color in 1998. So hearing continuous reports of revised PS5 and Nintendo Switch consoles should come as no surprise.
Well, those reports have once again resurfaced, as reported by TomsGuide.com. The rumours are courtesy of an apparent leaker of information, Segamega99. In a tweet being described as “cryptic” by TomsGuide, Segamega99 suggested that news on new consoles will be announced “soon”.

The alleged information is said to be sourced from a wholesale retailer. The source reportedly claims that Sony and Nintendo are manufacturing large quantities of the new consoles and both are said to launch at around the same time.
Unfortunately, the Twitter account of Segamega99 is set as protected, so we do not have access to its tweets. We’ll just have to take the rumours at its word. That being said, it’s important to take all unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.
Reports of a ‘Nintendo Switch Pro’ were making the rounds back in May 2021 after apparent leaked details appeared on retail giant, Amazon. However, it’s been two years since that “leak” and we’ve heard no official news from Nintendo. More recently, details on the PS5 Pro leaked back in March 2023 and the console sounds like it could be an absolute beast, to say the least.

Hopefully, both Sony and Nintendo will announce the “Pro” consoles at some point this year, assuming that the rumours are true.
