More special edition Xbox hardware has been revealed, and this one is especially beautiful.
Perhaps it's nostalgia hitting us, as there’s a definite 90s vibe emanating from this new piece of tech.
Or maybe it’s simply because we like collecting shiny items.

Whatever the reason, we want to add this new addition to our ever-growing Xbox collection.
Have you seen the date announcement for Squid Game season two?
Available from the 13 August onwards, the Sky Cipher Special Edition controller has already earned its place in your collection by the fact it's translucent like the chunky Apple Macs of ol’.

If anyone here is too young to remember the 90s, when everything was translucent so you could see its inner workings, this will mean nothing to you.
You’ll just see a gorgeous new controller.
But for some of us, we see its beauty and that tangible link to the past.
“Reveal the mysteries within the Xbox Wireless Controller – Sky Cipher Special Edition featuring a transparent blue design, silver interior, metallic features, and more.

“Look through the blue transparent top case and side caps to see metallic, silver interior parts shine through from inside,” its description reads, just in case you needed tempting further.
We doubt this reveal with improve relations between fans and Microsoft after more major console problems troubled many users.
However, it’s a fine start... provided we can use this controller without Microsoft’s system booting us out or going down.

“Well crap... I guess I have to get another controller...” posted an Xbox fan on Twitter, “I love the translucent controllers! More please.”
User simply lee remarked on how “lush” the hardware.
Others have commented on how “beautiful” and “smexy” it is; and yes, writing that word almost broke me.
However, while fans are loving the new design, they’re sad that it doesn’t come in Xbox green.

“Green would be a banger. Nobody understands why Xbox never comes out with cool new stuff in the colour they grew up with,” lamented ᴅᴏᴍɪɴɪᴋ.
If you want to purchase this new hardware on 13 August, it’ll cost you £64.99.
