Xbox Series X/S owners urged to change one setting to see 'huge improvement'

If you're an Xbox Series X/S owner, you're going to want to change this important setting to improve your WiFi speed.

If you’re someone who enjoys online multiplayer games, you’ve likely experienced the inconvenience that is having a less-than-satisfactory WiFi connection.

For the most part, mine behaves itself but then every now and then, I’ll be playing Fortnite with friends only to start lagging as I run - which becomes a huge problem when you’re aiming at a target, or should I say aiming at where they were two seconds ago. Thanks lag. Well, you have the potential to banish this issue, making it a pain of the past as Xbox Series X/S owners can drastically improve their WiFi speeds by adjusting one simple setting. This is something you’re going to want to take note of.

Avowed will finally launch on Xbox consoles this year. Take a look at the trailer below.

The advice comes from YouTuber Turbo Speed WiFi who claims the hack can double “or even triple” your download speed. Essentially, you’ll want to change your WiFi router from using the 2.4 GHz band to the 5 GHz band. Turbo Speed WiFi adds that most routers created in the last five years should support both bands. Some routers will broadcast both bands as separate networks, so all you need to do is join the 5 GHz network from your console.

You can change your network by locating your console’s settings, before choosing network settings. In the tutorial video, Turbo Speed WiFi demonstrated how joining the 5 GHz band almost doubled the download speed whilst also increasing the upload speed too.

A quick trip to the comments shows just how successful this mild adjustment can be. “Wow. I just tried this and went from 22 mbps to 178 mbps. This is a huge improvement,” wrote one viewer. Get checking those network settings, my friends.
