Given that Final Fantasy XIV first hopped on the scene back in 2013, it’s hard to believe that this hugely successful multiplayer RPG sensation will only be making its way over onto Xbox this year.
It’s set to be an exciting year for Final Fantasy fans. Final fantasy VI Rebirth is due out next month, and will reportedly feature well over 100 hours of content. It’s believed that its open-world will be comparable to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s which is music to my ears. Be warned, the game is a timed PlayStation 5 exclusive but Xbox users will still get a dose of Final Fantasy fun. MMORPG Final Fantasy XVI is finally set to land on Xbox Series X/S consoles in just a few months but you’ll actually be able to get involved much sooner as an open beta has been announced.

In recent days, fans came together at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Tokyo, Japan, with Square Enix making a number of exciting announcements. As reported by TechRaptor, it was revealed that the game had surpassed an impressive 30,000,000 sign-ups which is a hugely impressive milestone. That number is only going to grow as Square Enix also dropped news of an Xbox beta.

The open beta is due to kick off in February, with 21 February being the tentative date, although this is subject to change. Devs warned that the beta could shift either backwards or forwards by a couple of days but essentially, it will definitely kick off in mid to late February. During the open beta, new Xbox players will be able to join existing players via cross-play.
It was also confirmed that any progress made will be carried over when the game launches in full. This is expected to be during Q2 which runs from April to June. April is a busy month as it’ll also see the launch of the The Path Eternal event. All in all, it should be a juicy 12 months for fans of the franchise.
