Fans are gearing up for the highly-anticipated release of Starfield, preparing to lose thousands of hours to Bethesda’s space-exploration game.
Starfield is weeks away from launch, and fans are beyond hyped to finally get their hands on it, though a lucky few have already begun their playthroughs.

The game promises to be the biggest Bethesda title ever made, and will likely push the limits of open-world gaming to new heights, with many believing it to be a contender for Game of the Year. Players will be able to build their own starship and traverse over 1,000 planets, many of which hold their own form of sentient life and civilisations.

Now though, fans are worried just how much of their freetime will be consumed by the game, especially given the sheer amount of things to do and see that are featured within its galaxy. While the main story is surprisingly short, exploration will likely take up the majority of its playtime, and with each planet promising a bigger map than Skyrim, fans are likely going to be exploring it for a long time.
Reddit user Honoka31 shared their fear in a thread, saying: “With a combined 1200+ hours in Fallout 3, New Vegas, 4 & 76, I’m scared of Starfield. Bethesda has always created worlds that I end up so invested in.”
Fellow fans felt the same way, reminiscing on their playthroughs of previous Bethesda titles and how much time they plan to invest into Starfield. “I'm going to lose so many hours of my life to Starfield, Bethesda has stolen years from me," said one. “I have that many hours in both Skyrim and Fallout 4 alone. I’m ready for Starfield to take over my life for the next few months," added another.
“Them are rookie numbers bro. Pump them numbers up. You got like 50 days. Lol. But seriously, I know the feeling," wrote one user.
