Halo isn’t the titan of first-person shooters it used to be thanks to some mismanagement from Xbox but it still has potential.
If you need an example look no further than the latest chapter of Halo: Infinite, which kicks off its latest season today, 5 August.
Some exciting stuff is being added and not just some new maps to play on and armour to unlock via the battle-pass.
The Falcon from Halo: Reach has been added as a new vehicle, something fans have been waiting years for, as well as a redesigned Covenant Carbine, which has appeared in several Halo games from Halo 2 to Halo 5: Guardians.

These additions to the sandbox are always exciting especially as the initial launch of Halo: Infinite felt so barren in terms of content, largely due to its free-to-play, live-service nature. Unfortunately the Falcon and Carbine are restricted to the multiplayer, they can’t be used in the Campaign.
Halo: Infinite isn’t done there either. It’s unclear how long the game is going to be supported for, but again given it’s free-to-play nature there’s a good chance it’s got several more years left in it.
One can only hope all of the content added to it so far will be present in the next mainline Halo game from the get-go, but it sounds like the next game will be a complete reboot for the franchise so we can probably expect some old classics returning as well as some all-new content.
It’s believed the next game will essentially remake Halo: Combat Evolved, which I’m here for if it does more than just retell the story with prettier graphics.

I’d like to see it dive into some of the unused ideas for the first Halo game as well as introduce some brand-new stuff to really give it its own identity from Bungie’s titles.
