Halo 2 surprise DLC is 'incredible', fans agree

It's like it never left

Halo 2 multiplayer has been reborn through Halo Infinite, and it’s arguably better than it ever was.

Halo Infinite’s new season is celebrating the anniversary of Halo 2, with a new multiplayer game mode that changes physics and strips back gameplay elements that weren’t in the original release, like sliding and sprinting.

Check out the new season trailer below.

Think of it like Fortnite OG but Halo instead, and it’s incredibly fun. Also featured as part of the celebrations is a third-person Firefight mode, a first for the series and a great new addition.

While Halo Infinite wasn’t poorly rated when it launched, I think a lot of players felt like it lacked the sauce of the OG game multiplayers.

The new Halo 2 playlist feels like the original game but with a fresh new look, like what was done for Halo The Master Chief Collection, but better.

Ever since the update dropped, fans have been eating it up, and believe Halo Studios should use it as a reference point for future iterations of the multiplayer.

In a Reddit thread discussing the Delta Arena mode, one fan stated there should always be “a classic style playlist with every release of Halo”.

The majority of players agreed, with one calling it ”refreshing”, adding it “gives me old school Halo 3 vibes”.

Another wrote that the mode should have come sooner, saying, “It's been too long for them to implement a classic playlist. I remember one in Halo 5 forge when they added the Halo 2 BR that was the best the MP felt on that game, and it's easy to add.”

The mode has gone down a treat with the playerbase, and it’s clear that fans want that classic Halo feel to be present in the next game in the series, whatever that may be.
