Halo fans have a while to wait before the next game in the series, but in the meantime I’d highly recommend trying this spin-off, and others would too it seems.
The next Halo game is presumably in the early stages of development as the newly rebranded Halo Studios announced it’s on the hunt for fresh talent. The next game will utilise Unreal Engine 5 and from the look of things be a complete reboot for the series.
As long as it doesn’t take cues from the live-action Halo series we’re golden…
It’s going to be a while before we get our hands on it though, as there’s already debate on whether PlayStation users could, and should, get in on the fun this time around.

In the meantime though Halo: Flashpoint came out earlier this month, and it comes highly recommended from fans who’ve played it.
Think of Halo: Flashpoint like Warhammer but set in the Halo universe, with miniatures you can’t paint how you choose and a tabletop game to play afterwards.
The game is still in its early days but at the moment you can construct a small army out of Spartans or Covenant and do battle on any appropriate surface.
One player who bought the starter set shared their Elite models on Reddit and described the game as “wonderful,” saying “you should all support this game and give it a shot. I never painted anything in my life before painting miniatures, once you take the leap you won’t regret it.” They went on to say “we [Halo fans] really needed a win and this is one.

A surprising number of fans didn’t even know the game existed, but seemed up for giving it a go at some point.
As someone who likes a bit of Warhammer 40k every now and then I’d recommend trying it if you like Halo and want to express your creativity with a fun new hobby, you can find the starter sets for sale online.
