As is often the case these days, Grand Theft Auto VI’s initial trailer was compiled exclusively of cinematics although Rockstar did assure fans that these were created in-engine, reflecting the look of the full game.
That being said, we’re all itching to see some gameplay to see whether that promise holds up.
I’m sure it will. Red Dead Redemption 2 performed exceptionally, and technology has advanced in the six years since that game was released.

The question is, when will we get our first look at GTA VI’s gameplay?
The game is still well over a year away from launch - a Fall 2025 window has been set - so Rockstar won’t want the marketing to peak too soon.
Then again, it’s been a long time since that initial trailer.
They’re going to have to feed us something though, hence why fans are so suspicious about the Take-Two Interactive Earnings call set to be held tomorrow.

Even without seeing any gameplay footage, many are concerned about how GTA VI will run on the Xbox Series S.
You may as well watch GTA VI’s original trailer one more time. Take a look below.
The tech experts over at Digital Foundry recently discussed the game’s potential performance on various consoles, as posted to Reddit by user iWasAwesome.

Digital Foundry agreed that the trailer likely reflected a fps target for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, going on to explain that the heavy emphasis on ray tracing hinted towards the likeness that this won’t be something you can totally and easily switch off.
With that in mind, the performance has to support this demand.
They then went on to add that the Series S version would perhaps then have a 720p target, unable to match its more powerful current-gen counterparts.
As you can imagine, it didn’t take long for fans to start roasting the Series S.

“Should’ve never made the Series S,” one Reddit user wrote.
“I'm not trying to offend anyone who has the Series S, but that console is holding back so many games,” added another.
“Why do they even bother releasing it on Series S? It should be only available on the better hardware and that's it,” read one comment.
It’s tricky because the Series S does have its uses. It’s a great entry level console that’s far cheaper than many others out there on the market but it’s true that it does feel like a previous-gen console somewhat marketed as current.

Then again, I played through Starfield on the Series S and was pleasantly surprised but GTA VI does seem to be a major step up from that.
Let’s hope Rockstar pulls through and delivers a solid end product.
