Witcher fans are relieved a number of Netflix spin-offs have been cancelled, following the announcement the fifth season will be the last.
Netflix’s The Witcher has been a cautionary tale of how not to adapt a beloved franchise into a live-action format.
A good example would be Fallout, arguably the best live-action video game show since The Last Of Us which you can check out below
It’s a shame too because The Witcher series had a lot going for it, an established audience thanks to CD Projekt Red’s games, superfan Henry Cavill as Geralt, and a wealth of lore, plot points and characters to explore.

Unfortunately it turned out to be a colossal failure, as Henry Cavill left and was replaced with Liam Hemsworth, the story got further and further away from the books/games, and finally the show has been cancelled following the announcement of its fifth season.
Adding insult to injury two planned spin-offs, The Rats and an untitled series aimed at children have been cancelled, though fans couldn’t be happier.
Reacting to the news in a Reddit post by Idarran_of_Ulivo, they shared their relief at no more Netflix Witcher content.
“Honestly, good riddance. Of all the Witcher things that could've had a spin off, the Rats was way down the list. Not to mention that Blood origin was laughably horrible.”

“Wasn’t the script originally written as a Crows/Shadow and Bone spinoff, and it was then reworked to fit the Rats instead? Thank god they’ve seen sense.”
“Good. It’s too bad they didn’t make some other big changes in time. It’s almost impressive how hard Netflix fumbled the entire Witcher project considering all of the positives it had going for it.
The fourth season of The Witcher is believed to drop sometime towards the end of this year, with the fifth and final supposedly coming sometime in 2025.
