The Lord Of The Rings is full of amazing characters but none are as perfect of Samwise Gamgee, the true hero of the series.
The little hobbit accomplished a lot on his journey with Frodo, and our heroes quite literally wouldn’t have completed their quest without him, but out of all of Sam’s feats the most impressive was defying the One Ring.
He’s the real hero of the story, where’s his spin-off?
We saw the ring’s power to corrupt with many different characters, but when it’s Sam’s time to be tempted he very quickly brushes it off.

The Lord Of The Rings books describe Sam’s temptation as “wild fantasies” that “arose in his mind.” It goes on to say “He saw Samwise the Strong, Hero of the Age, striding with a flaming sword across the darkened land, and armies flocking to his call as he marched to the overthrow of Barad-dur... He had only to put on the Ring and claim it for his own, and all this could be.”
Despite this though he ignored it and continued to carry Frodo up the mountain, using the love for his friend to protect him from the ring’s influence.
Fans have loved this moment for years, praising Sam for being “a simple guy. He had neither the ambitions nor the glaring personal traits, positive or negative” to be tempted.
“His love for the simple life allowed him to resist the ring” said another, now that’s dedication for sure.

That’s why Sam is so likeable in The Lord Of The Rings, he’s just a silly little guy who likes tending his gardens and hanging out.
Frodo wanted more from the world he was living in, making it very easy for the ring to tempt him. Fortunately he had a good friend like Samwise Gamgee to keep him from doing something awful.
