Steam has issued warnings to any players unfortunate enough to have downloaded a free to play game prior to its removal from the storefront, as said game contained a nasty trojan virus that has drained players’ Steam wallets and compromised their accounts.
As spotted by PCGamesN's Ken Allsop, Valve has removed a free pirate simulator from Steam due to a "suspected malware" attack.
It seems, prior to a recent update, PirateFi was above board. However, the last update for the title infected players’ systems with a trojan virus by the name of “Trojan.Win32.Lazzzy.gen!”.

While you can no longer find PirateFi on the Steam store, the user reviews for the game are still live, and players were sharing stories of how the malware contained within the game raided their Steam wallets prior to its removal.
“So i downloaded the game the day it came out while i was bored i tried to turn the game on but it wouldn't start so i deleted it,” stated user BoboVsTheWrld.
“Well a few days later someone started buying dota skins or like add ons (idk i never played it) and now my money is gone and steam support said they cant do anything about it lmao it is what it is i guess.”
“Most of my stuff has either been hacked and passwords changed or being singed in using cookies thats been stolen,” replied user SourceTV.

I’m sure you probably don’t need me to tell you this if you did happen to download PirateFi and you’ve made it this far into the article, but those affected should definitely follow Valve’s advice and (at minimum) do a full virus scan.
Here’s hoping someone finds the devs responsible and gets some kind of recompense for those affected, because it sounds like Valve won’t be refunding anyone unfortunate to have had their Steam accounts compromised.
