If you’re on the lookout for a Cyberpunk 2077-esque RPG, you may want to direct your attention to ANNO: Mutationem.
It was actually back in 2022 that ANNO: Mutationem was launched but the word ‘underrated’ springs to mind, hence my highlighting of it to you today.
Developed by ThinkingStars and published by Lightning Games, ANNO: Mutationem is a single-player action-adventure RPG set in a cyberpunk world that uniquely blends both 2D and 3D graphic styles.

“In this action-adventure game with RPG elements you become Ann: a highly-skilled combat-trained lone wolf on a personal mission in the giant Metropolis, full of sinister mega-corporations, mysterious fringe groups and creatures more bizarre than words can express,” reads the synopsis.
The recently launched Sand Land also has a free demo available on Steam.
If I haven’t already sold the game to you, let me inform you that it features a friendly cyborg corgi. I bet you’re interested now.

Throughout your journey as Ann, you’ll “hunt down vicious criminals”, work on your bartending skills, and explore the diverse Noctis Town.
It’s an open-world RPG so the adventure is yours to control. As for the 2D and 3D hybrid approach, exploration takes on a 3D visual style whilst platforming segments opt for the 2D side-scroller format.
Over on Metacritic, the game has a respectable score of 71 from critics - players themselves are slightly more favourable with a ‘Very Positive’ review score of 85% over on Steam.
“The world and the style have unique atmosphere to it and really enjoyable. Hope there is more from this,” read one review.

“This might be my favourite game of all time. Crazy good story [and] fighting mechanics, lots of world to explore (but I wish there was more) and the art style is gorgeous. I can't recommend it enough, it's one of the best games I've ever played,” read another.
The good news is that a demo has launched so you can check out ANNO: Mutationem free of charge.
If you end up enjoying your sample of the game, you can pick up the full-length title for £10.71. That’s 45% off the usual price with the offering running until 15 May.
