We love a good freebie here at GAMINGbible, so every time Steam drops free games we pay extra attention to see exactly what’s up for grabs. This time around, Steam is offering three free games, one of which was a major 2023 release.
Steam’s free-to-play weekends, much like Xbox Free Play Days, offer you a chance to try some games on for size before spending your money. We’ll be honest, sometimes what’s on offer won’t be of interest to you, but each platform that offers this kind of incentive always tries to keep the selection varied.
Fancy something different? Check out the Super Mario RPG official reveal!
This weekend, gamers can play F1 23, Railroads Online, and Victoria 3. We think you’ll agree that this is quite a diverse mix, ranging from action-packed, adrenaline-fuelled racing to the socio-economic struggles of building a civilisation, with the roar of the railroads chugging away in the near distance.

All three of these free games have “mostly positive” to “very positive” reviews from players, which shows that you’re not just getting scrapings from the bottom of the barrel, you’re getting solid gaming experiences. Though, as always, we can’t guarantee you’ll enjoy what you play – but that’s why it’s free, to see if it works for you.
Should you decide you want to continue with any of the aforementioned games, you can then purchase them at a reduced price. Or, if you haven’t found what you’re looking for, you can try other games like the Starfield meets No Man’s Sky game also free on Steam right now. We’re nothing if not dedicated to ensuring you don’t have to spend money to enjoy yourself – call it one of the many mantras we live by as gaming enthusiasts.
If you want to try any or all of Steam’s three free games, you have the next three days to do so. Anyone noticing a pattern here with a certain number? Anyways, after those three days are up, the games will revert to their usual price.
