To celebrate the series' 20th birthday, Santa Monica Studios and Sony are teaming up again for a brand new God of War release – and before you get too excited, no, it’s not a game.
On 22 March, the very first God of War game turns 20-years-old. Almost old enough to drink in the United States, aww.
To commemorate the milestone, Santa Monica Studios is holding a “20th Anniversary Panel”, although they did note ahead of time that said panel won’t include any “announcements”.

“We’re so excited to bring a selection of the Greek and Norse cast for this God of War 20th Anniversary Panel where we'll be reflecting on the past two decades of the series,” Santa Monica Studios revealed on Twitter.
PlayStation fans have Ghost of Yōtei to look forward to this year.
“With such a stellar lineup and all the anticipation we’ve seen around the anniversary, we do want to be clear that there are no planned announcements for this event," they continued.

However, they have announced a little something special for the event ahead of time; the God of War 20th Anniversary Retrospective.
The two-piece slipcase will detail the entirety of Kratos’ story, spanning “eons and pantheons” in the process.
It will also apparently delve into the creative process that fuelled the series, covering its “inspired conception and dedicated development” as well as its “masterful performances and trend-setting design, all through exclusive and intimate interviews with the creative teams that have lent their passion and talent to the award-winning franchise”.
The collection won’t go on sale until July, but that will at least give you some time to save up considering it’ll cost you over a whopping $180.

Also, even though they’ve stated there will be no announcements on the 22 March, I’d keep an eye out for something special - just in case.
