There are plenty of exciting games due to release in 2024. The Last of Us Part II Remastered, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, Tekken 8, Star Wars Outlaws, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth … I could go on.
It’s not all about AAAs though. Some delightful indies are on the way too, and today I’d love to highlight Murder On Space Station 52 - an upcoming point and click murder investigation, set in space. Developed by Made From Strings, Murder On Space Station 52 is set to be published by Dionous Games and will launch later this year. Boasting a stunning art style and an intriguing premise, it’s very easy to get excited about this project.
Take a look at Murder On Space Station 52 in action below.
The synopsis reads, “Murder On Space Station 52 is a murder mystery adventure in space. Trapped on a space station with the Keychain Killer, Edward Locke must solve this mystery, or it will be his last. In this strange place, filled with even stranger people, Edward will discover more about himself than he ever could have imagined. Join Edward as he explores a hand-drawn, richly conceived world: filled with danger, mystery, creativity, and memorable moments.”

The hand-drawn animation reminds me of early Professor Layton entries, mixed with the eeriness of the stellar Oxenfree and Oxenfree II: Lost Signals. Murder On Space Station 52 doesn’t simply look stunning though, it features a joyous “rip-roaring blues” soundtrack and will be fully voiced by what promises to be a “charismatic” cast.
The good news is that while Murder On Space Station 52 isn’t due to launch until later this year, there is a free demo available right now on Steam. I guess I’ve just discovered what I’m spending this evening doing.
