There’s a very spooky scary game on Steam right now that you can play for free, and it’s well-worth a look for Resident Evil fans.
It’s a good thing too, since Capcom is taking its time to craft the next Resident Evil game, which is presumably a remake of Resident Evil 5 or possibly Resident Evil 9 depending on which comes first.
Check out the trailer for Resident Evil 5 below
In the meantime, you can try Dark and Deep, a survival-horror coming to Steam that you can play for free right now.

Taking a look at the game’s screenshots, it looks to be highly-stylised with simple but effective graphics and textures.
There are also some quite disturbing creatures scuttling around in the background of some of the shots, which will undoubtedly be hunting the player down during certain parts of the game.
The game’s description reads: “A conspiracy podcast drags you into a hauntingly illustrated world of mystery and terror. Reveal secrets and horrors with mystical frames given to you by a strange observer. Dark and Deep is a first person cosmic horror game with a focus on puzzles and exploration.”
Puzzles, exploration and horrors beyond human comprehension sure sounds like a Resident Evil-like game to me, and the chance to play it for free is always a good incentive.

Interested players can take the game for a spin with the free demo offered on the Steam page, which will hopefully give you a taste of the terrifying threats that lurk in the game without giving too much away about the game’s story.
Dark and Deep is expected to launch sometime in August later this year, so if the demo hits the right spot for you, you won’t have long to wait before you can play the whole thing.
