This Steam RPG seamlessly blends elements from Elden Ring with Horizon: Zero Dawn into the ultimate survival experience.
It’s called Soulmask and you can play it for free on Steam right now via a free demo. A full release of the game is planned for sometime in 2024, but since there’s no official release date now’s a better time than any to check it out.
Take a look at Soulmask for yourself below
The game’s Steam description reads: “Escaping a deadly sacrificial ritual, you find an ancient mystical mask on your journey. This mask holds potent knowledge, changing the world you knew. Face the harsh challenges of nature, survive, rally followers, and build your own tribe. Explore and unveil the truths behind the enigmatic mask.”

It’s said to provide an “authentic survival experience,” where players are cast into a dangerous world with nothing to their name as they learn to craft, build and hunt to live another day.
You’ll even be able to recruit tribespeople to your side, who can help you look for supplies, kill enemies or just chill in your camp to keep you company.
It gives off a lot of Valheim vibes, especially the landscapes and the focus on crafting supplies to survive. That being said you can also gleam some Elden Ring inspiration from the deep lore the game seems to feature, and if you slapped some robotic dinosaurs in there it might as well be a Horizon: Zero Dawn spin-off.
A free demo of Soulmask is available to download now, and should give you a taste of what the full game has to offer. As for the full release, it’s planned to launch on Steam sometime this year, though it seems an exact date hasn’t been set yet and could be delayed depending on development.

Nevertheless it looks to be shaping up quite nicely, and a must-play for fans of survival-RPGs.
