Soulmask is most definitely one to keep an eye on. Its sprawling open world should appeal to fans of Skyrim, while the game’s rich lore and intriguing narrative definitely have an air of Assassin’s Creed about them.
It’s hard to fathom that within the space of just one month, 2024 has already brought us so many bangers. From Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth to Persona 3 Reload, there’s plenty to dive into already, with Princess Peach Showtime, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Rise of the Ronin all on the way. You may want to add Soulmask to your list though. Developed by CampFire Studio and set to be published by Qooland Games, this multiplayer open-world survival adventure is set to launch later this year, but you can sample the game now.
Take a look at Soulmask in action below.
Soulmask is a sandbox survival game that claims to prioritise “an authentic survival experience”. The player assumes the role of the ‘last one’, someone who is blessed with the powers of an ancient mask within a “primitive land steeped in mysterious faiths”. You must recruit fellow tribesmen and discover the truth behind the civilisations of this world all while fending off a variety of foes and predators.

There are eight different weapon styles and a whopping 58 combat skills, so it should be relatively easy to find a fighting style that suits your tastes. The game also claims to boast “realistic physics” which should make building (or destroying) bases both interesting and fun. You can enjoy Soulmask as a solo player, or you can join 70 player servers.
While the game remains without a release date for now, you can go hands on in an open beta that kicks off May 1. Details on the beta and how to sign up can be found over on Steam. Soulmask definitely looks like an intriguing title that’s well worth giving a whirl.
