Pokémon TCG Pocket players realise they're all making the same mistake

Pokémon TCG Pocket players realise they're all making the same mistake

The things you learn...

We’ve been so caught up tearing open new packs every day that we didn’t realise we’re making a mistake.

Pokémon TCG Pocket is here, and boy oh boy has it sucked us in.

In just 48 hours after its launch, the game amassed millions of players. It was an instant hit.

Now that we’ve had several days to merely enjoy opening new packs, we now want to better understand the game.

How do we get those rare cards; what setting do we need to change to fill up our Pokédex faster?

There are so many tricks of the trade to learn.

Or so we thought. It turns out that we’ve all been assuming that our choices matter, but they might not at all.

A video shared by YouTuber Rustywolf shows that we get the same cards no matter which pack we pick from the pack wheel.

Turns out, luck doesn’t have anything to do with it.

“Who thought otherwise, honestly?” asked Arky_Lynx.

Quite a few players, actually. One user spoke of their girlfriend always standing in the same spot in their apartment to open packs.

The thing is, that same individual claims that they scored better packs when they did it “her way”.

“It's definitely all playground rumours. I never thought people believe there's any real difference between the packs aside from fluff. Everyone has their own rituals I suppose,” commented Chalaka.

So, we kind of got duped.

Maybe it doesn’t matter, though.

If you enjoy scanning those digital packs looking for any hint of their rarity, you go right ahead. Sure, it may have no real impact on your pick, but it’s part of your experience to catch ‘em all.

Of course, this is assuming you’re not trying to speedrun your way through the experience.

Should that be the case, then you can confidently select any pack knowing that it won't affect what you receive in the slightest.
