PlayStation 5 consoles have welcomed a free system update and it’s great news, especially for those who have upgraded to one of Sony’s new consoles.
This year is the 30th anniversary of PlayStation, and Sony has been getting nostalgic with its celebrations beginning with the console that started it all in 1994. For a limited time, you can download themes for your PS5 with your favourite generations from PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4.

Sadly, at the time of writing, the nostalgic PlayStation 5 themes are only available for a limited time but fans will be hoping that Sony will change its mind and make them available permanently.

While there seem to be no major announcements from Sony regarding some of PlayStation’s best properties, Bloodborne fans have garnered new hope after something was seemingly teased in a new trailer.
Recently, Sony released the long-awaited PS5 Pro, and whether it’s buying a new mobile phone or console, many of us have been through the gruelling wait of transferring data from the old system to the new one. Depending on how much content we have to transfer, it can take hours.
However, Sony has deployed a system update 24.08-10.40.00 which makes the transferring data process a little less gruelling. The update has already begun rolling out worldwide, but if it’s not reached your region yet, hopefully, it will have by the end of this week.
As detailed on PlayStation.com, the update which comes in at 1.3GB, will improve “the process of transferring data from another PS5 and enhanced stability when transferring large amounts of data, such as captures”.

Moreover, it will also improve “the messages and usability on some screens” as well as the typical system stability.
If the update has not been automatically downloaded while your PlayStation 5 is in sleep mode, simply go to ‘Settings’ via the dashboard of the console, then ‘System Software Update and Setting’ and finally choose ‘Update System Software'. Job done.
