Most players welcome free downloads from a popular game, but not the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 fandom.
As far as they’re concerned, this freebie isn’t worthwhile.
Marvel’s Spider-man 2, while missing out on GOTY 2023, is undoubtedly one of the best PlayStation titles to launch in the last year. Consequently, people want to play it.

The problem is, £69.99 isn’t a price everyone can afford – which is where PlayStation Plus comes into play.
If you’re a PS Plus Premium subscriber, you can unlock a two hour long free trial of the action-packed adventure.
Sounds like a fantastic deal, yet some fans don’t see it that way.

“That’s what? 50gigs of download for 2 hours of play? Ouch,” remarked an unimpressed Reddit user.

Further down the comments, another player pointed out that you don’t even get two full hours of gameplay.
They said, “Not even two hours because you're forced to play the parts where you're doing mundane things right after the intro mission. Like walking around the house talking to MJ, and riding bikes with Harry.”
Not everyone is annoyed by this download, though; their only issue is that it doesn’t give you unlimited access to all of the game.
“Wish these two hour trials could be hacked and then frozen to play forever,” joked user TheSlav87.

We get where they’re coming from – the desire to have longer to play, not the wanting to hack the game – but surely two hours is enough to know if you want to experience the whole game?
Besides, given how well-received this Sony Interactive Entertainment title was, we don’t think it’ll be long before it’s a PS Plus free game.
To many of us, being upset by a free download, especially one for such a beloved title, seems ridiculous. But here we are, reading the comments of disgruntled gamers.
Assuming you’re not put off by getting a chunk of a game for the cost of a monthly sub, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s trial is still available.
