Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been updated on the PlayStation 5, but eagle-eyed fans will notice that there’s a catch.
It’s been a tough few months for Marvel’s Spider-Man fans, as they’ve mourned the loss of Tony Todd, the voice actor who brought Venom to life for the second game, and were told no further DLC is planned aside from some new suits that dropped earlier this year.
Nevertheless Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is still a great sequel, and sets up exciting opportunities for the third and potentially final game
While DLC isn’t happening anymore, a huge loss considering one of them was supposed to introduce the Carnage symbiote, the game is still receiving updates.

Insomniac Games shared that the update has gone live and will come with a few needed patches to the game, but for some strange reason it hasn’t said what the changes actually are.
That’s right the patch notes are blank, so it’s unknown what it’s purpose was or if there are any noticeable changes to the game.
It’s a weird move but it’s probably due to the update making very minimal changes like fixing stability issues, nothing that fans need to know about.
Aside from that the game has hardly been touched, and it seems as if many fans have moved on while they wait for news on Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 or the rumoured Venom spin-off game.

The Venom game is yet to be confirmed, but if it does exist it's unknown how it’ll work following Tony Todd’s passing
Also on the way is the Marvel’s Wolverine game, which will reportedly tie into future games about the X-Men.
Gameplay for the Wolverine game hasn’t been shared, but early development footage was leaked earlier this year and gave us an idea of what it could look like when the finished product is unveiled.
