While we all wait patiently for gaming’s worst-kept secret - the PlayStation 5 Pro model - it seems Sony is making moves to increase the price of hardware.
With no public mentions, Sony has raised the price of the DualSense controller worldwide with several retailers reflecting the price hike online.
Astro Bot is Sony's latest gem and it's a game of the year contender
The standard DualSense comes in several colour options including the standard white, as well as Galactic Purple, Starlight Blue, Cosmic Red, and Midnight Black, which has increased by $5.

The same can be said for the more expensive colour options of Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver.
This reflects as a £5 increase in the UK, while Australia sees a rise of $10. No word has been given on the why of this happening and it comes at an odd time when Sony is going to attempt to sell us on improved hardware.
This news comes after Sony also increased the cost of the PlayStation 5 console in its home territory of Japan.
Price rises aren’t unusual, of course, but it’s odd timing given the changes Sony seemingly has in store. Usually, older hardware would decrease in price with a new model on the horizon.

The official PlayStation 5 Pro news is due this afternoon, well, it has been leaked as such, which tells you all you need to know about the history of this console.
Hopefully, we get some kind of explanation as to this price adjustment, but it’s unlikely given the stage will be set for technical specifications and a price tag.
All will be revealed later and millions of gamers will be longingly looking at their bank accounts to see if they can justify a new expense.
It seems like we haven’t been in this generation of consoles for five minutes and we’re all looking to the future like “Do I buy the new(ish) PS5 or wait for Switch 2?”
