PlayStation fans hyped as PS2 classic quietly returns on PS5

"This is such a win for PS5 users"

An underrated PlayStation 2 banger is about to release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4, following a leak from Sony.

Thank you in advance to True Trophies' Lee Brady for the original source!

Last month, Gematsu revealed that a re-release of one version of the classic Disney game WALL-E had leaked via the Taiwanese Ratings Board.

However, due to the nature of the leak, nobody could discern exactly which version of WALL-E was making its way to Sony’s next-gen systems.

As it turns out, there’s actually several different versions of this game. You’ve got the Nintendo DS version, a PSP version, an Xbox 360/PS3/Wii version, and a PlayStation 2 version.

According to reviews at the time, basically all of these versions were kind of rubbish– except for the PlayStation 2 one.

Thankfully, due to the fact that the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 trophies for the game just leaked, we can now confirm that the version of WALL-E we’ll be getting is the far superior PS2 one.

Over in a thread on the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit discussing the news, fans are mostly just thrilled that they’re not getting the PSP WALL-E.

“No kidding this is such a win for PS5 users,” commented user Marco47_2.

“Wall-E is such a good game.”

“Let's go, haven't played the ps2 version of walle in over 10 years, no joke!” replied user ExpensiveFigure3983.

“Can't wait to relive the nostalgia again on modern consoles!! We're back guys!!”

Currently there isn’t any news on exactly how this game will be available, but I think it’s probably safe to say it’ll be landing on PlayStation Plus Premium (alongside basically every other Disney PS2 game).

No exact date of release either, but I’d be surprised if we don’t have our hands on this one by the time the April PS Plus store update drops.
