PlayStation Plus subscribers questioning the value of the service might want to take a look at how much the library of free games is actually worth, because the answer is: a lot.
If you're a PlayStation Plus Extra member then there's plenty to pick through. August in particular has been a strong month PlayStation Plus with a huge batch of free games, including two of 2023's most promising releases. At present there are 469 games in the PlayStation Plus Extra library, plus a bunch of free trials for Premium subscribers.
Take a look at Baldur's Gate 3, one of the most exciting new RPGs headed to PlayStation, below! This one probably won't be hitting PlayStation Plus any time soon, sadly.
But how much is all that worth? And are you getting enough out of your £10.99 a month? If you were to buy all 469 PlayStation Plus games via the PlayStation Store, you would be spending roughly £13,630. That's according to my math, anyway, which is... passable, I guess.

Obviously you could get a lot of these games cheaper in sales, physically, or via other retailers, but in terms of raw, juicy numbers: the PlayStation Plus Extra library is worth over £13,000. That's not too shabby at all.
If you're wondering which games you should be playing on PlayStation Plus, I should warn you you have one last chance to grab one of the platform's best games, so start there. You can also check out our 10 favourite PlayStation Plus titles right here.
In other PlayStation Plus news, a subscriber from Turkey has attempted to save money on their membership by spending over £1,000 to remain on the service until at least 2050. Unsurprisingly, several large holes have been poked into the fabric of this plan by people who have pointed out PlayStation Plus may well not exist by 2050.
