There are so many incredible options to be found on PlayStation Plus that it can be hard to know what to play next.
But you’re in the right place if you’re looking for a recommendation.
Santa Monica Studios’ God of War franchise is one of PlayStation’s most beloved properties.

But if you’ve concluded Kratos’ norse adventures, you may be wondering what to play next that might scratch the same itch.
Well, as unlikely of a recommendation as it sounds, I’d urge you to give Kena: Bridge of Spirits a try.
Don’t be fooled by its Pixar/Ghibli-esque visuals, Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a true delight, but it’s certainly no walk in the park.
Take a look at Kena: Bridge of Spirits in action below.
Developed and published by Ember Lab, this delightful 2021 action-adventure title follows young spirit guide Kena as she sets out to restore peace to a land plagued by malevolent spirits.

Whereas Kratos is armed with an axe, Kena is armed with a staff but both are imbued with elemental powers that can see off even the toughest of foes.
For Kena, the power and variety of your attacks is determined by how many ‘Rot’ you collect, which are the most adorable little creatures you’ll ever lay eyes on.
They waddle around behind you so by the time you’ve amassed 100, you’ll have your own army of little guys you can stop and pet.
Oh, and you can adorn them with hats which, yes, isn’t very God of War but let’s hop back to combat.

In Bridge of Spirits, you’ll see off various enemies as you traverse the game’s world before finding yourself in a larger clearing - a sign that a boss fight is imminent.
And these boss fights are no joke.
As I said though, if you’ve completed a God of War game, you should have nothing to worry about.
This is no more difficult than, say, dispatching of a Valkyrie but it’s a shock to the system if you’re expecting Kena: Bridge of Spirits to be a breeze.

Honestly, it’s one of my favourite games and I’m desperate to see what Ember Labs is cooking up next.
In recent months, the studio has been concerned with porting the game to other platforms, but I’m desperately hoping for news of a sequel.
In the meantime, give this one a whirl on PlayStation Plus’ extra tier.
